Scenic Sunday #1

This is my first entry to Scenic Sunday. I am hesitant because the photos that I've seen so far from this meme are breathtaking. I need to get out more and see the world ;-)

This is our favorite place, Cannon Beach, Oregon, with the famous Haystack Rock. To see everyone else's favorite place, go here.

Watery Wednesday #4

Another oldie but goodie. This was taken eight years ago in Leavenworth, Wa. We were at this cute little miniature golf course. To go from area to another we had to cross behind a waterfall. I stopped to take a picture and you can see the golf course in the background. To see more Watery Wonders, go here.

SOOC Sunday #1

This is my first Straight Out of the Camera Shot ;-) I had been observing this snow berm for quite awhile when one day I saw an antennae sticking out of the snow. I thought there was no way that there could be a car under there because the pile was no bigger than any of the snow berms we have this year. Today when I walked by again I could see a car hatching out! It will be quite awhile before the car gets out totally though. For more impromptu Straight Out Of The Camera Shots, visit Murrieta 365.

Watery Wednesday #3

This is Snoqualmie Falls in the Cascade Mountains. There are many vantage points to the falls and I wish we had more time to see them all. This was taken from the observation deck across and above the falls. Come check out more Water here.

Shadow Shot Sunday #2 & Monochrome Monday #2

I'm combining Shadow Shot with Monochrome Monday this week. I took this a few weeks ago as the snow was threatening to cover up my yard butterfly, which it eventually did the next day. I didn't even notice the shadow until someone pointed it out to me. The shadow completes the half of the butterfly to make a whole one. I was going to apply sepia to this shot but liked B&W better.

Thursday Challenge:Many #1

MANY fat sea lions warming themselves on a dock in Astoria, Oregon last summer. Join us and take on a Thursday Challenge.

Sepia Scenes Wednesday #1

This was the very first picture I ever applied Sepia to and then framed it. It was taken 8 years ago with a 35 mm so the resolution is very low. In searching for the picture again I found it on a floppy! The way my daughter is dressed reminded me of pictures of Christmas long ago. Hope you like it. Look for other great Sepia Scenes here.

Lens Day Challenge:White #1

I thought I would jump in and do this challenge since I have plenty of White pictures this winter. This is an old plum tree in our backyard after a big 2 foot snow storm. You can see more white at Lensday.

This was taken from "The Column" photo below in Astoria Oregon. This overlooks Astoria with the Astoria Bridge crossing the Columbia River.

Monochrome Monday #1

I was excited to find this meme, you can do so many beautiful thing with black and white photos. This was taken in my backyard a few weeks ago after a heavy snowstorm. The poor little fairy was almost buried so I had to take a picture before she disappeared. You can find more Monochromatic treasures here.

Today's Flowers #1

Another picture taken by my 13 year old daughter. She took it last summer outside of her brothers apartment building. It's just a pot of petunias but I love how that little red flower snuck in the photo so it wouldn't be left out. See more flowers here.

Shadow Shot Sunday #1

I am a bad mommy and am going to steal one of my daughters photos for Shadow Shot Sunday. She is a 13 year old budding photographer. She just happened to catch the best shadow of the clouds that day. This was taken on top of Steptoe Butte in Washington State. It's a beautiful drive to the top and a spectacular view when you get there.

SkyWatch Friday #2

I'm running a little behind to get this posted. I decided to move all of my photography meme's to a new blog. I didn't think I would get addicted so fast, but here I am.

This is a beautiful summer sky in Astoria Oregon, showing off The Column. The view from the top is breathtaking and I may post a few water pictures as well. You can see more SkyWatch pictures here.
