Monochrome Weekly #12

After a long break, it's time to get back to work (fun). This was taken in Uniontown, Washington. The wheel fence was started in the 1950's by the Dahmen family and runs around the entire property. To help with the upkeep, you can even 'adopt a wheel'. The barn in the background has been restored and now houses several Artisans. Personally, I came for the fence. Go see more fantastic Mono's here:

that's a fantastic, ingenious way of giving new life to wheels that would probably have just landed in garbage heaps...

WOW! Now that's a unique fence and a great photo. What a creative idea. I love that people can adopt the wheels. If I live closer, I'd surely adopt one and make sure it got a lot of TLC.

Thanks for visiting and for your sweet comment. I look forward to visiting your blog again and again.
Have a super week, my friend!

Re-cycling at it's finest (with a pun thrown in there --- sort of). That's a great photo. It's a place I would visit, too. Adopt a wheel? Do you have to take care of it?

I wonder how long it took to put that together, I wonder. A fascinating collection that also makes a great photo opportunity! Thanks for visiting!

Shelly: No you don't have to take care of it; it's mostly to help with costs of adding and upgrading the property. They do put your name on the wheel though and let you know where it is in the fence.
