Today's Flowers #2 Macro Monday #6

A bloom from my Peony Tree. The blooms are quite large; about 6 inches in diameter. When they are in the sun they get very limp and droopy but perk up when the sun has faded so that's when I shot this. The only drawback to them is that they STINK very badly. I've tried to bring them in the house but can't stand it. They will have to be an outside flower forever ;-)

You can see some more beauty in flowers here and Macro shots here.

As long as they look as lovely outside as this - let them stay there!

Wonderful and beautiful.
It's allways a pyone.

that's too bad that you can't take them inside, but at the same time it's too pretty to keep them in anyway, let them beautify the outside world!

I didn't know the Peony stinks! The one I have seen have a lovely fragrance! And the flower is very beautiful, but so big and heavy they always fall to the ground in full bloom. Lovely shot!

I have encountered a couple of Tree Peonies with a delectable scent as well as scent-less ones. Very nice shot.

Oh so lovely.
I love peonies. I never noticed that they smell yucky. hum. Maybe there are different smells to them, you have me curious.

Peonys are lovely, but tree ones even more so. My Mother had a beautiful big bush of these that she used to sell to the florists of a good profi as they are very rare around our town.
