Sepia Scenes Wednesday #12

An original photo made sepia the old fashioned way. This is a family photo from the paternal side of the family. My grandfather is in the upper right corner, born in 1888. I should say that all I did was scan this photo. I didn't use and editing program so basically it's a SOOC shot, even if it is from a camera about 100 years old.To see more old fashioned or handmade sepia's, visit Mary.

Old family photos are great! Nice that you have one from 1888...AND you know which one person is your grandfather.

Why are old photos so much more interesting than recent ones? When someone wants to show me photos of their family, a bunch of people I don't know, my eyes glaze over, but hand me some old photos and I love looking at them. This one is lovely.

It is something really special with old photos. I have a collection myself, not on own family though..

I'm happy for you that you have one!

Have a great day!

It amazes me that they actually smile.
On many old pics they often make those sour faces :)

Sepia was truly meant for this family picture. Everyone dressed up for photos back then, and the dreamlike sepia adds a classy look. Beautiful!

How authentic! It amazes me how they were able to take photos "way back when". What a great family keepsake.
