Monochrome Monday #1

I was excited to find this meme, you can do so many beautiful thing with black and white photos. This was taken in my backyard a few weeks ago after a heavy snowstorm. The poor little fairy was almost buried so I had to take a picture before she disappeared. You can find more Monochromatic treasures here.

So nice, fragile and elegant! I love the poetic touch. It couldn't be in colors.

What a sweet fairy, just the type for those delicate chimes. This photo is a great choice for monochrome.

She is getting buried, isn't she? She shows up well against the snow.

I love the snow effect in B&W--it provides excellent contrast.

Nifty. The sun even gets some play in the background but the star is the fairy.

This is lovely - and spookily similar to a photo I took through our bedroom window, with the window well piled with snow and a silhouette of a flying goddess. It's not one I've posted, but I was so struck by the similarity!
